Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences is a constituent college of the Sikkim Manipal University (SMU). SMIMS offers MBBS, BSc. Nursing and Physiotherapy courses, besides M.Sc Programs in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Physiology and Anatomy. The Central Referral Hospital and STNM Hospital in Gangtok offer clinical training opportunities to students.

  • There are 9 Laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment. The dissection hall is large enough for 150 students to work simultaneously. All departments are provided with computers. Internet facilities are available in the college and central library.

Library

  • The library has 8000 text and reference books and subscribes to 100 National and International journals. Internet and Medline facilities are available for students and faculty.

Hostel

  • The Institute is fully residential. All undergraduate students are required to stay in the hostel. Only permanent local residents are exempted. The nine storeyed building houses 200 rooms.

ExtraCurricular

  • The University organizes movie shows at frequent intervals in the fully equipped auditorium.
