SSN College of Engineering is affiliated with Anna University and approved by NBA and NACC. College mission is to build world class research capabilities on par with the finest in the world and broaden students' horizons beyond classroom education. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Engineering in various streams.
Class rooms are properly furnished with adequate chairs, tables, TV sets, LCD and Over-head projectors etc.
The CSE computing section features the latest hardware configurations. The department is equipped with the following labs- Os and Network Programming Lab, System Programming Lab, Software Engineering Lab, Windows Programming Lab, Graphics & Multimedia Lab, Java Technology Lab, High Performance Computing Lab, Open Source Software Lab and Pg Lab. All labs are well equipped.
The Central library has an extensive collection of books and is augmented on a continuous basis. The library subscribes to popular periodicals, national and international journals. A large number of CD-ROMs and audio cassettes are a supplementary digital resource offered. SSN is an institutional member of the IIT, Anna University and British Council Libraries. Online journal database with link, IEL (IEEE & IEE) are available.
The SSN Institutions have well-furnished hostels, separately for men and women and they are nothing less than a boon for the non-resident students of Chennai. Spacious room, excellent water, modern kitchen and dining facilities mark the SSN hostels.
The College organizes State level Inter Engineering tournaments in basketball, badminton and table tennis for men and women every year for the award of SSN Rolling Trophy. The players of SSN Institutions have been winning significant laurels in the Tamil Nadu Inter Engineering Sports (TIES) and have been representing not only the University but State and also India.
SSN College of Engineering, Chennai has an active Placement Cell that continuously co-ordinates with various industries and organizations for placement of its students. It has already successfully placed a high percentage of students in industry. It actively obtains feedback from organization and conveys it to respective departments which, in turn, train students accordingly, thereby increasing their hit ratio. Several graduates have taken their place at different levels with reputed companies like Accenture Technologies, Infosys Ltd, HCL Technology Ltd etc.
