St. Xavier's College, Mapusa a pioneer institution in academics and research. Today it proudly ranks itself among the top 47 colleges in India out of 1600 colleges in India. College has initiated several programmes hand-in-hand with the academic curriculum, in order to provide wholesome educational diet to students. There are various cells, associations, linkages, centres, etc. with a variety of activities for the overall development of the student. College was awarded an A Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
