The Xavier Institute of communications (XIC) was found in the year 1969 by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India and is an autonomous educational institution. It was established to develop scholarship and professionalism in the field of media. Xavier Institute of communications (XIC) is managed by St. Xavier's College Society Trust, which comprises St. Xavier's College, the Institute of Management, the Institute of Counseling and the Heras Institute of Indian History and Culture.
XIC ranks among the top and biggest non-government media centres in Asia. It processes learning of self discovery and develops an understanding of the field well. The institute offers career oriented Diploma & Certificate courses in the field of media, services, training and production. XIC believe in the potential of the media as a tool for integral development.
Class rooms are properly furnished with state-of-the art equipments which are well equipped with educational audio-visual systems, LCD projectors & Network connection for providing a conducive atmosphere for learning. The classrooms are also spacious, well lighted & well ventilated.
The sound studio provides post-production facilities for designing sound effects for film and video. The Sound studio serves the recording needs of religious groups, regional and folk music producers, educators, activists and media professionals. The Editing system available is the Final Cut Pro - Version 4.5. Facilities to capture, edit and produce your video film like a pro.
Institute's library is maintained specifically to compliment the media programmes offered by XIC. It is also open to students of media Institutes and media researchers.
