B.Tech Automobile Engineering Eligibility Criteria

To pursue the B.Tech in Automobile Engineering course, students are required to meet some eligibility criteria. While there may be a few conditions set by specific institutions for admitting interested candidates, mentioned here are the basic criteria that all institutions and universities demand from applicants. The candidate must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam in Science stream from a recognised board.

The candidate must have studied the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) at the Intermediate level.

The candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying exam, which is the class 12 exam in this case. Please note that some top institutions like IITs and NITs may have this criterion set at 60%. However, you can also expect this to vary in other institutions and as per the candidate category.

The candidate must appear in the engineering entrance exam as acceptable to a specific institution to which he/she applies for admission in B.Tech in Automobile Engineering course. While most institutions accept the JEE (Main/ Advanced) or Joint Entrance Examination scores or ranks, some state colleges may prefer the scores or ranks from the state-conducted exams.
