While academic performance does matter for MBA admissions, it is NOT THE SOLE deciding factor. You could be involved with a host of other co-curricular activities, which goes on to say something about your character.

Besides that, whether you do B.A or B. Com you are eligible for MBA anyways. The minimum eligibility criteria for MBA is 55 - 60% aggregate in your graduation to be eligible to appear various national & state level MBA entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, SNAP, IBSAT etc. Basis you score in these tests, you can take admission in a college that accepts your score (along with GD + Interview)
