Hi, The School of Education (SOE), IGNOU, is offering a two-year diploma in elementary education (DElEd) for in-service teachers from the academic session starting July 2011. The course is designed and developed by the faculty of SOE in close collaboration with a highly experienced group of experts from leading educational institutions in the country including National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE). The course contains elements, which have been recommended by the National Policy on Education 1986, National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education 2009, National Curriculum Framework 2005 and Right to Education Act 2009. Some other colleges offering Diploma in Education includeAdarsh Junior College of Education, Maharashtra, Adhyapak Vidyalaya, Junior College of Education, Mumbai, Aryan Education Society's Vanita, Mumbai, Basic Training Institute, Raipur, Madhya Pradesh, District Institute of Education & Training, Ambala, Haryana, Hindu College Of Education, Haryana and Padmashree Academy for Creative Teaching, Bangalore. Qualification: For admissions to the D.Ed-Diploma in Education at various institutes in India, the minimum qualification required is completion of 12 years of basic education. Also 50% is the minimum marks required in the qualifying examination to be eligible for Diploma in Education.
