Environmental engineers are employed by the government and industry to monitor and control pollution, and to handle the environmental impact of new infrastructure projects and so on. You can work in research and development, recycling & waste management, social development, or as an environmentalist and as environmental consultants.
Biotechnology is the application of existing scientific methods and techniques aimed at improving the biological systems, which include microorganisms, plants and animals.
Biotechnology plays a major role in serving mankind by contributing to industries like agriculture, animal husbandry, health care. The areas where
biotechnology has grown in India include Bioinformatics, Agricultural
biotechnology, Bio fertilizers, National Bio-resource Development, Plant Biology, Marine
Biotechnology and the like. One can opt for Pharmaceutical or other Chemical industries or can work in the production department of any industries in the research and development wing. Apart from all these, one can also go for research works or for teaching profession.
Expected salary depends upon several factors like the sub-field you choose amongst these e.g.
engineering,
pharmacy, lecturer, research & development and how well versed are you with your subject. Generally, both fresh M. Tech (Biotech) and M.E. (Environmental Engineering) job seekers are getting a starting salary ranging from 15K-40K.
