Hi Pravin, you would be eligible to apply for a GP Rating post in Merchant Navy if you have cleared Xth standard with at least 40% marks and have passed in Mathematics and the Science subjects as well. Also you should not have colour blindness and should have 6/6 vision in each eye. Eye glasses are also not permitted.
Since you are a 10+2 pass out, you can pursue the 4 month Pre-Sea Course for General Purpose (GP) rating from any of the 4 Government Training Institutes providing Pre-Sea and Post-Sea training of international standard:
 i. Training Ship Chanakya, Navi Mumbai.
 ii. Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI), Kolkata.
 iii. Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI), Mumbai.
 iv. Lal Bahadur Shastri College of advanced Maritime Studies and Research, Mumbai.
