Automotive design is the profession involved in the development and design of automobiles like buses, trucks, cars etc.. Automotive design is practiced by designers who usually have an art background and a degree in industrial design or transportation design. An automobile designer is the one who understands the automobile at its engineering subsystem level and then tries to impart a look and feel which is unique and consistent with the overall brand and product idea as such.You can do a Bachelor’s in Design with specialization in Industrial Design and then Master’s in Automobile Design.

As the aspirations and demands of people for better cars rise, the scope for automobile design is bound to grow too. In fact, many auto companies based abroad are coming to India for designers. Indian auto companies have also set up studios. Besides, foreign companies hire Indian designers to modify their (foreign) car design to suit Indian tastes.
