Dear Student,

It is a good decision to pursue M.Tech or M.S after completing your bachelors in civil engineering. You can opt for M.Tech or M.S as both the degrees are offered through entrance exams. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is the test for admission in M.Tech course in India. Those who qualify GATE exam can get admission in top engineering institutes in India. M.S degree is offered outside in India so you are required to clear Graduate Record Exam (GRE) for admission in M.S degree. You also have to clear English proficiency tests i.e. IELTS or TOEFL for taking admission in M.S degree in abroad.
