Dear student,

The UGC-NET exam for Ph.D in Social Science held two times in a year. The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship. The Test is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science.

The candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for lectureship.

Eligibility:

• You should have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC.

• The Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Physically Handicapped (PH)/Visually Handicapped (VH) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

• Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the final year examination of Master’s degree and whose result is still awaited may also apply for the test.
