Hi,

Since Computer Engineering is not part of the core stream of Aeronautical Engineering, you are not eligible to get a lateral entry into Aeronautical engineering. However, another option is that you could clear the GATE exam with a good score and join aeronautical engineering.

Eligibility Criteria and Details:

You should be 29 years of age (as on January 1, 2012)

Syllabus includes: general English, general Engineering, Verbal/ non verbal/ logical reasoning, Technical section and general Mathematics. The GATE paper will comprise of 65 questions in total, 30 – multiple choice, 35 – descriptive (2 marks each). GATE exam time is 3 hours and there is negative marking (1/3 of the mark).
If you don’t want to go through the above procedure, you can get lateral entry in Computer Science engineering and Information Technology.
