Hey Pankaj,
Computers have become all-pervasive today. From youngsters flaunting their latest gadgets to farmers from far-flung villages huddling around a PC to check the daily crop prices, the computer is omnipresent. They have become a permanent part of the human social fabric. It is no wonder that CSE (Computer Science Engineering) is still one of the most sought after programme among the top ranking students, global economic meltdown notwithstanding. The programme combines both electrical engineering and computer science telling you not just how computer systems work, but also how it fits into the larger picture.
You could probably do something in computer engineering.
To become a Computer Science Engineer one should have a graduate degree (B.E / B.Tech) or postgraduate degree (M.E) in computer science engineering. The basic eligibility criteria for a BE / B.Tech in computer science engineering is 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. To get selected into the graduate courses (B.E / B.Tech ) the marks secured in the final exams of 10+2 and the performance in entrance exams are evaluated. The entrance exam for the IITs is JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) and for other major institutions is the AIEEE (All India Engineering/ Architecture Entrance Examination). A lot of institutions have their own separate entrance exams.
