Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations offers instruction in the Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Manchu, Mongolian, and Vietnamese languages; its faculty also offers Literary Tibetan in the Sanskrit and Indian Studies Department.

For admission in AM (Masters of Arts) in Sanskrit course: You must hold the equivalent of US bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from any recognised university (either a three or four year undergraduate degree) with GRE general test scores.

So, after completing your graduation degree in Sanskrit honours after 12th you can opt for AM (Masters of Arts) in Sanskrit course from Harvard University by fulfilling their requirement.

You can complete your master's and then go for M. Phil and PhD. To qualify to be a lecturer in India, you need to appear for the NET (National Eligibility Test) conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC) twice every year and a Master's degree is essential for it. Once you qualify in the NET Examination you become eligible to start your career as a Lecturer in any Govt College or private college. As a lecturer there is a huge benefit for you with fixed salary along with other allowances. After becoming a lecturer if you have organizing skills, you have a further scope to become a principal, vice-chancellor in the management level. You can also take Ph.D. for further studies after your masters degree.
