You have not mentioned what you want to do in aviation. There are many options that you can choose from like flying operation, aircraft maintenance, air traffic management, aviation safety, regulatory policies and technical aspects of flying. If you want to become a commercial pilot, you need a 10 + 2 with Physics & Maths from a recognized school. The complete course is for 15 – 18 months with 3 levels of qualification – medical test, theory classes and ground classes.

However, if you want to do aeronautical engineering (the study of aircrafts) or astronautical engineering (study of spacecrafts), then you will need to do the respective engineering course. Aerospace engineering programs almost always start with an advanced geometry and calculus class, an engineering software course, as well as an organic or physical chemistry class. You should find out from the college that you would want to go to if there is a possible provision for transfer and then take a call on whether you would like to switch or not (depending on the time you will lose and the money that you have put in into your current course).
