It is wise to spend so much only if you have the talent and the experience apart from just interest. It is advisable that you first get some work experience and/or do a short course. This will provide you with some exposure and help in making an informed decision. The area of film making is something that requires immense talent coupled with a certain amount of luck and networking within the film making community.
