You can apply for admission to the Army wing of the National Defence Academy (NDA). Admission to the Air Force and the Indian Navy requires physics and maths at the Plus Two level. Applicants should be between 16.5 and 19 years old and be medically and physically fit. For entry into the NDA/ Naval Academy, s/he needs to take a written examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission twice a year. Those who clear the written round are called for the Services Selection Board test, which comprises a personal interview, outdoor physical tests and psychological assessments to assess the candidate’s suitability for a career in defence. There are strict physical standards for admission to the armed forces through the NDA. The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cm for the Army, 157 cm for the Navy and 162 cm for the Air Force.
