Hi. There are 2 departments in Shipping - Nautical Department & Engineering Department. Nautical Department is responsible for Cargo Operations, Navigation of the vessel and General Maintenance of the Ship and Administration, whereas the Engineering Department is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all Machinery onboard ship and the propulsion system.

Since you are interested in doing BMS, you should pursue MBA in Shipping Management after that. It will give you an option to work in the shipping field, in a top notch job!

Eligibility Criteria for MBA in Shipping Management

• Minimum 50% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th)
• Graduation with at least 50% marks from a recognized University

Admission Criteria

UPES Management Entrance Test (UPES-MET) / National Level Test + Group Discussion & Interview. Students with a minimum CAT Score of 70 percentile/ MAT 75 percentile/ GMAT Scores/ AICTE’s CMAT score will be exempted from UPES Management Entrance Test and will be called for Group Discussion & Interview.

Duration of MBA = 2 Years
