Hi Himank If you have passed 12th standard with English as one of your subjects, you would be eligible to apply for a B.sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration. You are eligible to apply even if you are to appear for your 12th standard exam in the year 2011. The entrance exam for most of the institutes will be conducted around the months of April-May. Questions would cover topics varying between English language, aptitude for service sector, numerical ability and scientific aptitude, reasoning and logical deduction, data interpretation, general knowledge, current affairs etc. The level of questions would not seem very difficult if you prepare in advance. The paper is usually 3 hours long. Prepare for the English section well as the weightage for this section is more usually. Get hold of a couple of good books to prepare from. There are many available which focus solely on questions covered in the entrance exams for Hotel Management courses. These days, one also gets to buy CDs which have question banks covering all the aforementioned topics in detail. WGHSA (Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration, Manipal) has been a constituent college of Manipal University since 2003. It has been securing a majority of the top university rankings over the years. Graduates from WGHSA have found positions in renowned hotel chains, travel agencies etc. There is an online entrance test for the BHM course here.The test will be of 2.30 hours duration and carries 100 marks. There will be one question paper divided into Numeracy (20 marks), Conceptual (25 marks), General English (20 marks), General Awareness (20 marks), Case Study (15 marks) of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) of the objective type. Last date for receipt of application for this course at WGHSA is 21st March 2011.
