You need to be a meteorologist to study weather monitoring and reasearch. Meteorologists study the relationships between atmospheric characteristics and the environment. They predict future weather conditions, study climate trends over time, track ozone levels, study rainfall and monitor global temperature.

A bachelor degree is the minimum education level needed to start a career in Meteorology, but most research positions require a master degree or doctorate. Related fields include environmental science, physics, mathematics, engineering and astronomy.
