Hi Taiba, The CFA charter is given to those candidates who have successfully passed the CFA Program, a graduate-level self-study program that combines a broad curriculum with professional conduct requirements, culminating in three sequential exams. Completing the CFA Program exams can take as little as 18 months, but on average, it takes about four years to earn a CFA charter.
Most successful candidates spend about 300 hours daily on an average. However, your preparation time will vary based on your prior education and experience. For each level of the curriculum, there are 18 study sessions, so a good plan is to devote 15-20 hours per week, for 18 weeks, to study the material. Use the final four to six weeks before the exam to review what you've learned and practice with sample and mock exams.
Exam Dates:
The Level I exam takes place twice a year, in June and December. The Level II and III exams take place once a year, in June. Registration usually opens about 11 months before each exam. CFA Program applicants pay an initial one-time enrolment fee. In addition, applicants are required to pay an exam registration fee. There are three options for the CFA Program curriculum: eBook only, print only, or both, the least being 405$ (eBook ) and the maximum being 1,510$ (e-book version + printed version).
