The first certification which can be thought here would be CompTIA Security+. This can give a vendor neutral knowledge about what security is for a IT infra which includes Network, Desktops , Operating systems etc,… Next is EC- Council Certified Ethical Hacking. This course talks about how to follow good ethics of hacking a system. There are vendor specific courses from Red hat ( RHCSS ) and CCSP from Cisco. If you are from a network background, then Cisco security courses can be opted. If you are a person with Linux / Unix background, then you can opt for RHCSS.
