It depends on what is your outlook. If you are looking specifically from the view of a job opportunity there are some companies which need specific skills and hence start training the students earlier on this. Such a course should be followed if there is a clear indication that you may get absorbed by the company if you complete the training satisfactorily as these inputs are specific  to the concerned company or others operating in similar domain.
