Yes Saunak, given your case, this is certainly the best way to go. Otherwise, you can also take up a one year diploma course pertaining to whatever engineering field you are interested in. This will be a value - addition to your courses when you finally undertake it. However, if you take up a general B. Sc degree, you will benefit in the sense that you will not loose out on a year...
