Home > Discussion > Is it a good option to drop a year for economics honours?
Dear student,
It is not a wise decision to waste an important academic year. However, if your interest lies in Economics then you can drop a year and opt for Economics Hons. next year.
Economics is the social science that analyzes the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services.
Many of the universities and colleges offer B.A, B.Sc, B.A (Hons.) and B.Sc (Hons.) degree courses in Economics. These courses are of three years duration and offered in regular as well as distance learning mode. As graduate in Economics you can get many entry-level jobs in banking, finance, insurance, stock markets, sales and marketing as well as corporations like consulting firms or government departments.
You can also work as Economist. Economists analyse issues related to growth and development, welfare and policy formulation - both long and short-term.
Career options in Economics
Good luck!!!
