After completing an architecture degree there are various options available to you both in the public and private sectors. A qualified architect can work with government organisations like central and state public work departments, housing and urban development corporation, municipalities, city development authorities, state housing boards etc. They are also employed in industrial ventures, consultancy and private architectural firms, teaching institutions, real estate development firms etc. With some years of experience in an organisation, the architects can set up their own business. It is advisable for you to continue with your professional degree in architecture as you have spent 5 years studying it in depth. If you are interested in the historical places of tourist interest, you could take up an MA in architectural conservation, a specialization in the architecture of heritage areas, comprising of historic buildings, cities and cultural landscapes, handling the research and documentation, as well as repairs, maintenance and upgradation of historic structures. However if you do not wish to pursue architecture you can take up a PG Diploma in tourism related areas and then start working in the travel and tourism industry. There are courses available such as Masters in Tourism or other post Graduate courses in Travelling and Tourism industry like Master of Tourism Administration (MTA), Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management (PGDTM), Post Graduate Diploma in Travel and Tourism Industry management (PGDTTIM), Diploma in Destination Management (DDM).
