A hotel manager is responsible for the front desk and keeping the hotel running smoothly. To become a hotel general manager you need a degree in business studies or Hotel Management. The hospitality sector has a lot to offer. You can be a Management Trainee, Customer Relations Executive, Hotel Manager, Marketing/Sales Executive, Kitchen Manager, Housekeeping Manager and Catering officer or Chefs, in Hotels, Flight Kitchens, Cruises, Fast Food Chains and other Allied Industries.
You can opt for various degree courses in Hotel Management or Hospitality sector conducted by numerous institutes to become a Hotel Manager such as
1. B.Sc in Hotel Administration & Hospitality (BHAH)
2. Bachelor of Hotel Management
3. Bachelor in Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BHMCT)
4. Bachelor of Business Administration (Hotel Management)
5. Bachelor of Science (Hotel Management & Tourism)
Eligibility – You should have passed 10+2 to take admission in any degree course in Hotel Management followed by entrance exam like NCHMCT JEE - National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology Joint Entrance Test, IPU CET, etc. conducted for admission in Hotel Management courses. Admission to these courses varies from college to college.
There are even some associate degree programs that offer a certificate and diploma in hospitality Management, which can be useful for entry-level positions.
