The proposed five-year integrated programme in management (IPM) is a unique and creative programme to help them become management professionals. As far as this matter is concerned, there have been no confirmations yet.

Unlike the IIT’s, which are established under the Act of Parliament the IIMs can’t award degrees on its own. Hence it is a setback for IIM-Indore as it wanted to give students the option of dropping out after completing 3 years and taking a graduate degree in management only. The HRD Ministry has said that that IIMs can’t offer degree on its own and went on to say that students who join IDM (earlier IPGP) will merely look for the name IIM and take up the course. The Ministry also made it very clear that it did not want to interfere in the academic sessions of the IIM’s.  As far as we know, IIM Indore is planning to affiliate with a foreign university to keep the possibility of offering degrees. However, this news has not been confirmed by the IIM’s yet.
