Hi,
Mechanical engineering is a division of Engineering that deals with the mechanics of physics and science to analyze, manufacture and design mechanical systems, while Automobile Engineering is the division of Vehicle Engineering. It is the study of engineering that deals with designing the vehicle, manufacturing new products/ new vehicle, repairing, servicing vehicles.
Mechanical engineering deals with the production of mechanical devices, while automobile engineering is concerned with the making of parts and designing them specifically for vehicles or automobiles.
Both fields are related to each other. But it would be better to do mechanical engineering instead automotive. It will give you a broad education which you can use to get a job in a variety of industries, not just the automotive industry.
Both the fields have different value and scope, you can choose any of the one field of them after completing your 12th. This decision totally depends on you. Whatever area interests you should be taken up for your studies.
