The Central Counselling Board has introduced some changes in the Counselling Process for 2011.
After Online Registration candidates go through a phase of Choice Filling and Locking (Locking is the process of final submission of choices). All registered candidates can fill their choice of branches and institutes and lock the choices. This choice list is used for the first three rounds of allotment. In the 4th and 5th rounds candidates can make online choice modifications and lock them again. Seat Allotment is done based on the candidate’s All India Rank (AIR), category, preference of choices and availability of seats, etc. Spot Round Registration is open to all candidates eligible for central counselling, except those who have already got admitted in an institute through CCB. The spot round is the last chance for all students to get admission based on AIEEE 2011 ranks. This will officially be the last round of counselling. The students who were freshly allotted/got altered their previous allotment shall get admitted to Allotted Institutes against the spot round of allotment as per schedule
The broad outline for counselling and seat allotment through the CCB (AIEEE-20) is given on their website www.ccb.nic.in under Information Leaflet and FAQs.
