Hi, if you have the means to sponser yourself, then please don't let go of this opportunity. Even if your ultimate ambition is to get into a govt. job, imagine, what portfolio you will get once you complete your M. Tech and that too from the top institute in India. At that level, getting a govt. job for you will not be difficult at all. But every year, thousands of students wish to be admitted to the IIT's and when you have gotten a chance, don't throw it away. Jobs will come and go, but a golden opportunity to study in the country's prestigious institutes will not come often.

So take it up and complete your M. Tech first and then think of pursuing a job. Also, even if you join the job now, you will have to wait for a certain period of time before you can avail the sponsorship programme. Are you willing to wait for so long?

So think through it befor you make a decision.
