If your diploma course has all necessary approvals such as courses directly doen through IGNOU are generally all approved, it does not matter which mode,(distance or regular), you have followed. You are accordingly eligible for lateral entry into any engineering college in India as everyone has provisions for lateral entry diploma holder students.
