Hi Divya, undoubtedly Delhi University is better. Better exposure, and the course structure is very good. There are no good books that you should read. You should in general be well-read. And this does not mean limiting yourself to text books. Popular fiction, prose, plays, Indian authors - you should have a fair amount of knowledge or have read quite a number of books to have a general opinion about literature. Good luck!
