Environmental science and engineering is becoming an interesting career option because of the increase in consciousness about the environment. Job opportunities are increasing in this field. Engineers can be recruited in Central and State pollution control boards. There is also a large scope for this field outside India. International firms related to environmental projects offer lucrative pay packages and recruit Indian engineers from this field. It is very difficult and almost impossible to say which branch of engineering is the best one. The choice and the decision may vary from student to student. Before choosing you need to keep in mind your interest areas and your personality type. Electrical and electronics engineering deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. You will cover a range of subjects such as power, electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications. As an instrumentation and control engineer you will be designing, developing, installing, managing and/or maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes.
