Along with formal education, a career in biometrics engineering requires technical expertise and biometrics systems experience. You can demonstrate technical knowledge by earning certification in computer languages or software.

It's a growing field in India with a lot more opportunities. Employers generally prefer applicants with several years of experience in biometric systems design, testing and development. Many positions require highly developed skills in specific programs, such as Linux, UNIX and Java. Some positions may also require employees to obtain security clearance.
