Hi Aprajay, the basic difference between PGDM and MBA are:

i> MBA is a Degree course, while PGDM is a Diploma course
ii> MBA Degree is provided by institutes affiliated to a university and follow the curriculam of the university, while PGDM Degree is offered by private B-schools not affiliated to any university. So these institutes follow their own curriculam and enjoy complete autonomy of the courses offered.

To sum it up, what matters the most is the reputation and curriculam of an MBA institute and the placements for your course offered in that college.
