Hi,

Veterinary science involves controlling and curing diseases in animals, animals in zoo, sporting animals and developing new breeds. It includes application of medical, surgical, dental and diagnostic principles related to domestic and wild animals.

You should have Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science (B.V.Sc.) to practice as a veterinarian. B.V.Sc. is a four and half years programme plus six months internship. Admission to most veterinary colleges is on the basis of results obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the concerned universities. Veterinary Council of India conducts an All India Common Entrance Examination (AICEE) for admission to first year Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) & Animal Husbandry (AH) degree course.

Eligibility:

1. You should have passed 10+2 with science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

2. You should be above 17 years of age and there is no upper age limit

3. You are required to pass an entrance exam that is set by the universities/colleges.

The valid score of entrance exam varies college to college.
