GPAT 2018, registration for which will start in October 2020 is a postgraduate level entrance exam for programmes in pharmacy. Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is one of the most important entrance tests conducted to choose most deserving Pharmacy students for postgraduate pharmacy courses. Administered by the All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE), GPAT is conducted in January every year. As GPAT score is used by all the AICTE approved colleges, universities and constituent colleges, applicants get ample choices by clearing the test. This year, the exam is expected to be conducted in the third or fourth week of January.
Apart from the entry in top pharmacy colleges in India, GPAT score also helps candidates get scholarships and financial assistance provided by various colleges and universities.

To be eligible for GPAT 2018 exam, interested candidates need to meet certain conditions. Only those meeting the minimum eligibility criteria can fill online application form for entrance exam. Candidates who fill the application form even without fulfilling the eligibility criteria won’t receive their admit cards. It’s better to first go through GPAT 2018 eligibility criteria and fill the form only when you meet all the conditions.
Only citizens of India are eligible to apply for GPAT 2018
There is no age limit to apply for GPAT 2018 exam
B.Pharma final year students can also appear for GPAT 2018 exam
To appear for GPAT exam, candidates must have completed their four years’ Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. Those appearing the lateral entry B.Pharma programme can also apply for the exam.
GPAT 2018 registration process will start from the second week of October 2020. Eligible candidates can fill GPAT 2018 application form only through online mode by visiting the official website (www.aicte-gpat.in). Last date of online application is 2nd week of December 2020.
GPAT 2018 registration is three step process, including:
Online registration where candidates need to fill the required details like personal information, address, email ID, contact details, qualification etc. on the link provided at the official website. You also need to upload a scanned copy of signature (60x90 pixels) and photograph (140x160 pixels)
Payment, which can be done both in online and offline modes:
· Online payment through debit/credit card or net banking
· To make cash payment, candidates need to download the challan and submit the same in State Bank of India along with the application fee
· Form submission where candidates need to fill application form
As candidates cannot make any changes after final form submission, cross-check it carefully to confirm all the details provided by you.
· GPAT 2018 admit card will be released by the authorities on AICTE-GPAT websites in second week of January 2018
· Candidates can download their admit card by using their login credentials
· Take printout of the admit card as it is mandatory to carry it to the examination hall
· Applicants from general category need to pay Rs. 1400+ Bank charges as applicable
· Application fee for candidates from SC/ST/PwD is Rs. 700+ Bank charges as applicable

Based on GPAT 2018 result, candidates are called for GPAT 2018 conuselling. Candidates can check their names for counseling in the merit list which includes the roll number of candidates, category, rank, total score and status (qualified/non-qualified). Various AICTE approved institutions conduct individual counselling of the candidates and allot them seats based on their scores in the entrance exam.
Documents needed at the time of GPAT 2018 counselling:
· Mark sheets along with certificate of qualifying examination
· Migration certificate
· Transfer Certificate
· GPAT 2018 admit card
· GPAT 2018 score card
Recent passport size photographs

GPAT 2018 exam syllabus is based on Bachelor of Pharmacy syllabus and includes questions from the same. GPAT exam syllabus is divided into four main sections:

· Pharmacognosy
· Pharmaceutics
The subjects covered in GPAT exam include Physical Chemistry, Physical Pharmacy, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Anatomy, Pathophysiology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Physiology and Health Education, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Management, Dispensing and Hospital Pharmacy.
