The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry (JIPMER) is one of the leading Medical Institutions of India and was declared an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament, i.e. JIPMER,Puducherry, Act, 2008. It can now award Medical Degrees, Diplomas, etc. and which are deemed to be included in the schedules to the respective Acts governing Medical Council of India, Indian Nursing Council and Dental Council of India. It imparts Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG) and superspecialty medical training through a working hospital (JIPMER Hospital) with a bed strength of 1500 and a nursing college. B.Sc. M.Sc., M.D., M.S., degree courses are offered in 22 various disciplines. Admission to the M.B.B.S. course (98 seats) is through an entrance examination conducted by JIPMER at various centers once every year.

Age Limit: -
Students must have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December 2014, the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS.

Exam Pattern: -
The questions for JIPMER MBBS 2016 Entrance Exam will be based on the syllabus as prescribed by State Board Hr. Sec. and CBSE for XI & XII standards. There will be 200 single best response type MCQs that will cover all the subjects. These 200 questions will be divided into 4 sections i.e. Physics (60 Marks), Chemistry (60 Marks), Biology (60 Marks) & English (20 Marks). Each correct answer will carry one mark. There will be no negative marking. The examination will be conducted in English medium only.
