UCEED 2018 is an entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, under the guidance of the UCEED Admission Committee 2018. The exam can be taken by all nationals including Indian as well as foreign nationals. It is important for candidates to appear for UCEED 2018 exam and clear it to pursue Bachelor’s of Design programme offered at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) and B.Tech in Computer Science and Design (CSD) programme at Indraprashtha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi).

A common application form is released online for all four institutes. The responsibility of taking care of common application form process and joint seat allocation process is the UCEED Office, IIT Bombay.

UCEED 2018 Eligibility Criteria

UCEED has given some eligibility criteria which candidates need to meet to apply for the exam. From age to qualification, candidates need to meet every requirement to qualify for UCEED registration process 2018.

UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2018

Age Limit

Candidates born on or after October 1, 1997 are only eligible to apply for the exam

Candidates from SC, ST and PwD category get a relaxation of five years of age. SC, ST or PwD candidate born on or after October 1, 1992, can only apply for UCEED 2018.

Education

  • Candidates from all the disciplines including arts, commerce, and science, who have appeared for class 12th in 2020 are eligible to apply for UCEED 2018.
  • Candidates who are appearing for class 12th examination in 2018 from a recognized university can also fill UCEED application form.

UCEED qualification

A candidate to be eligible to apply for UCEED exam 2018 should have got a rank in UCEED 2018.

Science students who studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry can get admission in IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati and IITDM Jabalpur while candidates from other streams can apply for admission only at IIB Bombay and IITDM Jabalpur. 


UCEED 2018 Application Details

To appear in UCEED 2018 exam, candidates need to register them on the official website. UCEED 2018 application process will be available only in online mode which candidates need to complete by visiting www.uceed.in. Only candidates who meet all the three eligibility criteria can proceed with UCEED 2018 form filling process. Candidates must make sure that they provide authentic information only as the application will be rejected if the exam conducting authorities find any discrepancy in the details provided by the candidate.

Candidates must go through detailed instructions to fill online application process on the application portal.

Step wise UCEED 2018 form filling process:

·         Visit the official website

·         Read all the instructions carefully

·         Fill personal details, academic details and opt for three examination centres of your choice

·         Upload scanned copies of the required documents including photograph, signature, qualifying examination certificate etc.

·         Make payment of the requisite UCEED application fee in online mode

Application fees detail

UCEED 2018 application process will complete only after payment of prescribed fees. Candidates need to check payment structure for different categories and pay the given fee in online mode only. Candidates can make payment either by debit/ credit card or by net banking.

UCEED 2018 Exam Syllabus

The question Paper will include questions from the following topics-

Visualization and Spatial Ability

Knowledge of practical and everyday mechanical and scientific concepts, pictorial and diagrammatic questions to test understanding of transformation and/or manipulation of 2D and 3D objects and their spatial relationships will be checked in this subject.

Analytical and Logical Reasoning

Ability to weigh opinions, arguments or solutions against appropriate criteria will be judged. Ability to look at information be it quantitative or qualitative in nature, and discern patterns within the information. Ability to use logic and structured thinking to deduce from a short passage, which of a number of statements is the most accurate response to a posed question is the objective of questions from this section.

Observation and Design Sensitivity

Ability to detect concealed properties in ordinary things, situations, people and events, and thinking critically about them is what checked in this section. Ability to discern subtle differences in visual properties and aesthetic outcomes. Applying attention to certain analysis, details, reasoning, classifying, interfering and predicting is also checked.

Language and Creativity

Reading comprehension, knowledge of English grammar such as sentence structure and usage, the use of tenses, verb pattern, articles and active and passive constructions and vocabulary skills is covered in this.

Environmental and Social Awareness

History of art, sculptures and literature, awareness of social and cultural connection with design, history of the designed artifact, and socially responsible and environmentally sustainable design responses are covered in this section.

Design Thinking and Problem Solving

Ability to understand complexity, identify problems, evaluate options, generate alternatives and select solutions. Ability to use visual analogies, signs, metaphors and symbols.


UCEED 2018 Exam Centers

UCEED 2018 will be conducted at 19 different examination centres across India. While filling the form, candidates compulsorily need to choose 3 cities of their choice for UCEED examination centres. Once the candidates have submitted the application form, they will not be allowed to make any changes in the choice of exam centres. It is better you carefully choose the UCEED exam centre 2018.

In case there is a shortage of candidates for a specific examination centre, it will be dropped from the final list and the candidates who chose for that exam centre will be allotted second or third option. Further, apart from dropping the exam centre, the examination authorities also reserve the right to add a new city/ town for additional exam centre for UCEED 2018.
