The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC), conducts the National Eligibility Test (NET). The test is required to regulate the eligibility for the posts of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian universities and in colleges. CBSE will conduct the UGC-NET 2020 in 84 subjects in 91 NET examination cities across the country.
UGC NET 2020 application process for the exam conducted in November has already started. CBSE released UGC NET 2020 notifications on August 4, 2020 after which online application form submission process also started. UGC NET 2020 application process started from August 11, 2020 and the last date to submit the online application form is September 11, 2020. Those interested in taking the same should fill the UGC NET application form before the last date.
There will be three papers of NET and final selection of the candidates depends on their performance in all three papers.

CBSE Releases UGC NET 2020 Admit Cards
Aspirants who wish to apply for UGC NET 2020 should first check the eligibility criteria. UGC NET 2020 eligibility criteria give you an overview of the qualities the exam conducting body is looking for in the candidates.
Candidates don’t need to send any documents or the printout of their Application Form to CBSE.
The candidate should have passed a Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks (without rounding off) from a UGC recognised university in any of the 100 subjects mentioned on the official website of CBSE UGC NET.
Students belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD category are required to have at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree are eligible for the test.
Those candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination or waiting for the results can also apply. However, they are required to complete their PG within two years from the date of NET result.
The PhD degree holders who have completed their Master’s degree by September 19, 1991, will be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate marks.
Candidates should try to appear in the subject of their post graduation only. However, they can appear in a related subject if their post graduation subject is not covered in the list of 84 subjects.
Junior Research Fellowship
Candidate should not be more than 28 years of age as on November 1, 2020. There is a relaxation of 5 years for women applicants and the candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC and PwD category.
Assistant Professor
There is no upper age limit for the candidates applying for the post of assistant professor.

Candidates can apply for UG NET 2020 exam only by filling online application form. To be considered for the award of JRF, candidates filling the form should clearly specify whether they are applying for both JRF & Eligibility for Assistant Professor OR only for Assistant Professor. This is essential for the final selection as the rules and regulations for selection of JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor are different.
· Candidates applying for CBSE UGC 2020 exam are required to visit the official website of the CBSE NET.
· Fill up all the required information in the online application form, upload the scanned copy of photograph and signature.
· After fillip up all the details, make a payment of examination fee through credit/debit card or through e-challan.

No admit cards will be sent to the candidates by post. Applicants who applied for UGC NET 2020 need to download the admit cards from the official website of CBSE. UGC NET 2020 admit cards will be uploaded by the authorities in the third week of October 2020, after which candidates can download the same by logging in their accounts.

UGC NET application will not be accepted until candidates pay the required fees. The candidates can pay the examination fee either by debit/credit card or through e-challan which needs to be generated while filling the application form. Those making payment through e-challan need to visit any branch of Syndicate, Canara or ICICI Bank before September 12, 2020, to make the payment.
An additional processing charge will be debited from the accounts of candidates making payment through debit/credit card.
· Credit card: - 1.20% of the examination fee plus the service tax as applicable.
· Debit Card: - 0.75% of examination fee plus the service tax as applicable

UGC NET 2020 syllabus includes 84 subjects. Candidates can download complete UGC NET 2020 syllabus from the official website of UGC. The syllabus is NET subjects is also available in Indian Universities.
Note: CBSE won’t send UGC NET 2020 syllabus to individual candidates.

CBSE UGC NET 2020 List of Subjects
Candidates applying for UGC NET 2020 exam are allowed to select four cities for their NET 2020 examination center. The governing body will try to allot city their choice, but there is no assurance of getting the same examination center. Candidates can also be allotted a different city in some nearby area.
